Robomonkey alternative: ScriptPanda compared
18 October 2026 · 4 min read
Quick answer
Robomonkey and ScriptPanda both let you describe a browser tool in a chat and have AI build it. Robomonkey also works as a userscript manager for most Tampermonkey and Greasemonkey scripts. ScriptPanda focuses on writing a tool for the page you're on, reading the page's structure as it builds.
Two AI builders for the browser
A new kind of Chrome extension lets you describe a tool and have AI write it: an export button, a form filler, a page clean-up. Robomonkey and ScriptPanda are two of them. If you're choosing between them, this page sets out what each says it does. Everything about Robomonkey here comes from its Chrome Web Store listing as read in October 2026. We haven't tested claims we can't see, and we've left out anything the listing doesn't state.
What Robomonkey says it does
Robomonkey's listing describes it as an AI-powered extension and userscript builder for automations and web scraping. It lists:
- building data extraction tools that output CSV, ZIP, TXT and JSON;
- making changes to how websites look;
- creating form fillers;
- building persistent extensions, and sharing them with others;
- analysing what's on screen.
It also says it works as a userscript manager, similar to Tampermonkey and Greasemonkey, and that it works with most scripts written for them. The listing says it's free to install and offers in-app purchases. At the time of reading, it showed a few thousand users and a 4.8 rating.
What ScriptPanda does
ScriptPanda is a Chrome extension that builds custom tools for the website you're on from a plain-English description: export buttons, page clean-ups, workflow shortcuts and AI-powered tools that summarize, rewrite, classify, extract or generate on the page.
How it works:
- You open the side panel on a site and describe what you want.
- It sends your request, the page's address and a trimmed outline of the page's structure, not a screenshot or the full page, so it can find the parts of the page you mean.
- It writes a userscript, installs it and runs it on the page.
- If the site changes and the tool breaks, you ask ScriptPanda to fix it for the page as it is now. You can also open any tool's code and edit it.
The tools are stored in your browser, in the extension's local storage, not on ScriptPanda's servers. A simple tool runs as often as you like without using requests once it's built. AI-powered tools ask for your approval before their first run and use requests each time they run. ScriptPanda has paid plans, listed on its pricing page.
ScriptPanda doesn't run existing Tampermonkey or Greasemonkey scripts, and it builds one tool per page. It can't schedule jobs, work across several sites at once, or run while the browser is closed.
How to choose
- You have existing userscripts you want to keep running: Robomonkey says it supports most of them. ScriptPanda doesn't run them.
- You want tools written for the exact page in front of you, that you can fix by asking: that's ScriptPanda's focus.
- You want to compare results: try the same request in each. The request at the end of this guide, an Export CSV button above a table, is a good test, because it depends on finding the real table on a real page.
A note on numbers
User counts and ratings on the Chrome Web Store change constantly and aren't a reliable measure of quality on their own. Read the listing's permissions and privacy section for any extension that changes the pages you visit, including both of these.
Limits
This comparison uses only what Robomonkey's Chrome Web Store listing stated in October 2026, and ScriptPanda's own documentation. Both products change often, so check each listing before deciding. Like any userscript, a ScriptPanda tool runs inside the page while it's open in Chrome on your computer, and if the site's layout changes it may need fixing, which you do by asking ScriptPanda on that page.
Do it with ScriptPanda
Build it in one request
Add an Export CSV button above this table that downloads it as a CSV file.
- 1Add ScriptPanda to Chrome.
- 2Open the side panel on the site you want to change.
- 3Paste the request and send it. ScriptPanda builds the tool into the page.
