How to hide the LinkedIn feed

18 October 2026 · 4 min read

Quick answer

LinkedIn doesn't offer a way to switch the home feed off. Its settings change notifications, not the feed. To open LinkedIn without it, add a small tool that hides the feed on the home page and gives you a Show feed button for when you do want to scroll.

Why hide the feed

Most visits to LinkedIn have a purpose: answer a message, check a job, accept an invitation, look someone up before a meeting. The home feed sits in the way of all of them. It's the first thing on the page, and it's very good at turning a two-minute errand into twenty minutes of reading posts. Hiding it keeps LinkedIn useful as a tool for messages, jobs and contacts.

The built-in way

As of October 2026, LinkedIn has no setting that turns the home feed off. What it does offer is control over what you're notified about, under Settings and privacy, then Notifications. You can turn off in-app and push notifications for things like updates from people you follow or trending conversations. That reduces the pull back to LinkedIn. It doesn't change what's on the home page when you get there.

Inside the feed, you can unfollow people, mute them, or mark individual posts as not wanted. These shape the feed. The feed is still there.

The manual way

You can skip the feed by never landing on it:

  • Bookmark the pages you actually use, such as Messaging at linkedin.com/messaging, My Network, or Jobs, and open those instead of the home page.
  • Use LinkedIn's top bar to jump straight to a section.
  • Search for a person or company directly from the address bar.

This works until you click the LinkedIn logo, or follow a link that drops you on the home page.

Make it permanent with a tool

A userscript can hide the feed for you. It's a short piece of JavaScript that runs on a website you choose. One for LinkedIn finds the feed on the home page and hides it, leaving the top bar so you can still reach messages, notifications, jobs and your network. It also adds a Show feed button in its place. Clicking it brings the feed back until you reload the page, for the days when you do want to catch up.

LinkedIn loads the feed as you scroll and moves between sections without full page reloads. A good tool keeps watching the page, so the feed stays hidden when you come back to the home page from somewhere else.

ScriptPanda is a Chrome extension that builds that tool from the request at the end of this guide. Open its side panel on linkedin.com, paste the request, and it writes and installs the userscript. The next time you open LinkedIn, the home page is quiet.

Hiding things on a page doesn't use AI once the tool exists, so it runs without using your plan's requests. Only building it and changing it do.

Ideas for follow-ups:

  • Hide the side columns on the home page as well, including suggestions and news.
  • Hide the "Promoted" posts and keep the rest of the feed.
  • Show the feed only after 5pm, or only on Fridays.

Limits

The tool works on linkedin.com in Chrome on your computer. It doesn't change the LinkedIn app on your phone, and it doesn't change your account or what LinkedIn would show you, it only hides the feed in your browser. The feed may appear for a moment before the tool hides it. If LinkedIn changes its layout and the feed comes back, or the button disappears, open ScriptPanda on LinkedIn, say what changed, and ask it to fix the tool for the page as it is now.

Do it with ScriptPanda

Build it in one request

On LinkedIn, hide the home feed so the home page shows only the top bar, and add a Show feed button that brings it back until I reload.

  1. 1Add ScriptPanda to Chrome.
  2. 2Open the side panel on the site you want to change.
  3. 3Paste the request and send it. ScriptPanda builds the tool into the page.
